Sunday Morning, 12:30am

It's the weekend after Christmas and things are feeling a little bit surreal...I haven't quite been sure what day it is since last Tuesday. But here's looking forward to a week off from work!

Right now:
I'm loving looking through my new book - finally got it as a Christmas gift after months of longing.

I can't stop listening to this song (and others) by Jenny Lewis.

I think this is pretty awesome. I'm going to take more time to look through it tomorrow. Right now, it's time to get some sleep.

Well, it's finally here. I'm off to spend Christmas the best way I know how, in front of a crackling fire, twinkling Christmas tree, rolling hills and a blanket of snow.

Right Now...

I am too full of cookies baked & eaten over the past few days.

I'm getting a kick out of watching White Christmas on TV, a movie I watched many Christmases as a kid - and which has also been, I think, a big contributor to my adult love of Christmas, Bing Crosby, Snow, and Fashion.

I am swooning over Mary's pictures, especially this one.

I've got wrapping on my mind.

The snow is here, my car is parked, and I'm not planning on driving anywhere for at least 24 hours. Time for watching movies, sipping hot cocoa, and snuggling under blankets. Have a great weekend, everyone!!

A Thursday in December...

If there were any doubts after last week's run-in with Mother Nature, tomorrow it will be confirmed: Winter has officially arrived. We are posed to get a pretty substantial snowfall - sans power outages and downed trees - just in time for the Big Day.

I'm already deep into Christmas Vacation mode, which - funny enough - doesn't work so well when your vacation doesn't actually start for another six days. Today I was totally checked out at work: physically present, but mentally, not so much. I just have other things on my mind...

I love this and this for different ways to display ornaments around the house.

And this is one of the most beautiful photographs I've seen in a long time.

Ten days....

Today after work I went to the stores with every intention of getting some Christmas shopping done. Mission: not accomplished.

I did, however, get this lovely new sweater.

Somehow this week I need to:
-Start and finish baking all of the Christmas cookies in time for two parties this weekend
-Purchase, write, and send out cards
-Actually get some shopping done for other people

Can it be done?
