It's December tomorrow

So where's all the...?

It feels so strange not have had any snow yet. I had to put up Christmas lights just to remind myself what time of year it really is.

Grey Weekend

This weekend I feel like staying in bed, possibly curled up in front of a movie with a never-ending mug of hot chocolate - or coffee.

What are you up to this weekend, dear readers?

Come See Me Tonight!

I'll be at the Paper Sparrow from 5-9pm showing my photos in the gallery. Stop by and say hello!

Have a wonderful weekend. xo.

Update: Thanks to everyone who braved the chilly winds & stopped by to chat for a bit. And thanks so much to Kate for letting me show my work in your shop. :)

Right Now

I don't have to "officially" work again until next Monday.
I have a box from the bakery sitting on my floor,
an unopened bottle of wine,
and dinner plans with friends.
I'm wearing a shirt with sequins.
I'm thinking about setting up for my show.

Some days feel really good.
On with the celebrating!

Some pretty for your Tuesday

Very in love with these old clocks from sadie olive's shop.

Oh, and also these worn old rolling pins. They make me want to make pie.

In Print

For the past week or so I've been spending a lot of time preparing for my upcoming photo display at Kate's beautiful shop for one of the area's monthly art shows. I'm super excited and just a touch nervous - nothing a glass or two of wine beforehand won't cure.

Getting ready for this show has really been a process. I found it somewhat difficult to select a small number of images to include since I had over a thousand photos to go through - all of which I felt some attachment to. I can remember the circumstances surrounding each one - where I was, who I was with, how I was feeling - all of which are conveyed and come back to me in some way through the photograph, therefore making each one special. For me, photography is quite personal and carries a certain kind of intimacy, but I guess that's true of all art.

If you're going to be in the Albany/Troy area the Friday after Thanksgiving, swing by between 5 and 9pm and say hello! I'd love to see you there. The show will be up through the end of January (hooray!). I hope you can all come!

Oh! And the little book of my photos is now complete & ready to order - it features many images that are included in the show, and some that aren't.

Making a List...

I've started thinking about Christmas lists - for myself and others. This lovely calendar by Linda & Harriett will be on mine.

What are you asking Santa for this year?

Happy Weekend!

The weekend is very close -- hooray! While I may not love the fact that the days are shorter and much cooler, I'm already starting to get excited for the upcoming holiday season. Is that crazy? I don't think so.

Sweet

These fuzzy little deer would look so perfect on my mantle for the holiday season. I am already starting to get really excited for the next couple months, I can feel it.

Petite Amber

Isn't this darling little ring from Blue Hour Design perfect for the fall months? I don't wear a lot of jewelry, but I want that.

Slow Going & Shop Update

Between starting a new job and being sick for over a month, I've hardly taken any photos this fall. It's really a shame because it's my favorite season, and the one that makes for the prettiest photos, I think. I'm determined to get out sometime this week, before all the leaves have blown away.

In lieu of my creativity this season, I've updated the shop with some fall goodness from last year. Stop by and enjoy!
