My high school years
Ahh, reminiscing with some of the music that was my high school life. Or at least trying to -- apparently ANY and ALL videos of Bob Dylan performances have been removed from youtube. NOT. COOL.

Well it's about time

Not that I haven't owned all of their music since my obSESSive middle and high school years...but even though I haven't necessarily needed to access it, without their music being available on iTunes for the past however many years, all just hasn't been right with the world.
((Oh God Paul love love)) <3 <3

Have a great weekend!

I'm tucked away in bed sick for the time being, watching scary movies and reading. And sleeping. Hopefully I'll be well enough soon to enjoy at least some of the long weekend!

Summery Sweet
Tonight I'm baking this and listening to this.
Regarding the cake...I know I really shouldn't...but hey, I have an interview in two days I'm stressing about, and it's too cold outside to leave my apartment anyway {right around mid-May, I go from wuss to Super Pansy about the temperature}. :)

It's Not Me, It's You
Do you love her as much as I do? She's back in heavy rotation on my ipod this week. Check out the hilarious, retro, slightly creepy new video. Those outfits. That dancing! Her biting lyrics. Thank ya Lily, thank ya very much.
oh, i lay here in the wet patch
in the middle of the bed
i'm feeling pretty damn hard done by
i spent ages giving head
i look into your eyes
i want to get to know you
and then you make this noise
and it's apparent it's all over
too great.

Your Eyes Are Burning Holes Through Me

Sigh.
Is there a human being on the planet more beautiful than Michael Stipe? I have a longstanding infatuation with the man - at least thirteen years - and counting. In high school, when most pubescent girls were swooning after the boy band set, I was lost in fantasies about Mr. Stipe. Oh sure, it started out innocent enough. I was a huge R.E.M fan and listened to the albums almost constantly. And then, well, it went beyond the music. Let's just say my fantasies about meeting him did not involve going up on stage, or asking for an autograph, or anything at all to do with music, really. The man oozes sex. I literally spent hours just looking at him; he is completely mesmerizing.
The Sartorialist caught up with the ever-so-fashionable musician last week. Still sexy.

It's Here

Happy Friday.
Happy first day of Spring.
I have a sudden urge to watch this.
Have you seen the lovely Mrs. French's new shop?
I'm writing this at 3am. I've had a lot of trouble sleeping lately.
Yesterday I delved into my musical past & I'm loving loving these guys again. Listening to music from another time in your life can have such a funny, beautiful effect. It's like catching a glimpse of a version of yourself you'd forgotten you once were. And looking back from the place you're in now, it's funny when you can identify certain people, places, songs, images, experiences, etc., that somehow shaped and impacted the person you've become.

Not too much to say today. The Spring/Summer collection from Toast has arrived, and the clothing and images are gorgeous as usual. I've been listening to a lot of Sufjan and Beirut the past couple days, and these two songs are just about the most beautiful of the bunch. They sort of sum up the mood I've been in lately. Happy almost Friday, all!
