1st Grade

It's official! I've been hired in an actual full-time, PERMANENT teaching position. Hooray! After finishing school in 2005/2006 and working part time/temporary jobs in a wonderful school district ever since, I've finally secured the one and only permanent classroom job available this year. Wow. I am so excited, can't wait to get started, and I never have to sit through another one of those grueling interviews again! (unless I move away, of course).

I cant almost smell that September air....

...just kidding. ;)

Peonies

Today I'm walking around with my nose buried in a bunch of peonies. I have great vases of them around the apartment. As I sit at my desk, I am gazing and sniffing. I grew up with peony and lilac bushes bordering our property, which is perhaps why I love them so much. They are my absolute favorite flower in the entire world, and they last for such a short period of time. I will surround myself with them until they are gone.

A caption I read in this photo set read, "Peonies are the greatest luxury."

I completely agree.

Happy Friday!

My birthday is in about a week, and for a while now I've been trying to plan a birthday-party get-together with friends. Who knew it could be so difficult to get everyone together in the same place at one time!? 'Tis the season for weddings, vacations, etc., and it seems everyone has different availabilities. Sigh. Hopefully something can be worked out.

In the meantime, have a happy happy weekend!

Affordable Art: Little Brown Pen

The wonderful & talented Nichole has begun offering high-res digital files of some of her lovely photographs for at-home printing for cheap cheap cheap! I love this idea! She even gives suggestions about which paper to use. And if you don't have the greatest photo printer at home, you can even send the images to a third party to have them printed professionally (kodak, shutterfly, etc.). Hmm, now how will I decide which one(s) to purchase?
