Hey! My sweet friend Kaitlin was photographed ice skating in the park yesterday and featured in the local newspaper. What a cool photo...Although I've walked over it many times, I can't say I've ever seen the underside of that bridge before!

Have a wonderful weekend!

What are you up to this cold and windy weekend in February? I'm looking forward to attending a showing of the new documentary by one of my very favorite filmmakers , followed by a Q&A session with the director himself. (If you haven't yet seen this or this, I highly recommend).
Whatever you do, stay warm, and most importantly - think spring!

Can I just tell you...
how much I love this blog? Her sweet confections, darling wooden bowls & spoons, beautiful photographs, and inspirational tidbits about everything and nothing in particular.

Treasured, by Ragamuffin Design

Thanks Jess for including my Roses print in your Etsy Treasury! It's so nice to be included among so many beautiful items. I'm definitely feeling the wintertime blues and looking to get to spring as fast as possible, too. Keep warm!

In Print

For the past week or so I've been spending a lot of time preparing for my upcoming photo display at Kate's beautiful shop for one of the area's monthly art shows. I'm super excited and just a touch nervous - nothing a glass or two of wine beforehand won't cure.
Getting ready for this show has really been a process. I found it somewhat difficult to select a small number of images to include since I had over a thousand photos to go through - all of which I felt some attachment to. I can remember the circumstances surrounding each one - where I was, who I was with, how I was feeling - all of which are conveyed and come back to me in some way through the photograph, therefore making each one special. For me, photography is quite personal and carries a certain kind of intimacy, but I guess that's true of all art.
If you're going to be in the Albany/Troy area the Friday after Thanksgiving, swing by between 5 and 9pm and say hello! I'd love to see you there. The show will be up through the end of January (hooray!). I hope you can all come!
Oh! And the little book of my photos is now complete & ready to order - it features many images that are included in the show, and some that aren't.

Slow Going & Shop Update

Between starting a new job and being sick for over a month, I've hardly taken any photos this fall. It's really a shame because it's my favorite season, and the one that makes for the prettiest photos, I think. I'm determined to get out sometime this week, before all the leaves have blown away.
In lieu of my creativity this season, I've updated the shop with some fall goodness from last year. Stop by and enjoy!
